What sort of Church is this?
The Church is not a formal institution; it is a life-filled family - God’s family. In the church, people are free to be themselves...there are no favourites! Rules and regulations have been overtaken by faith, hope and love. This is what we’re aiming for in Kościół Łaski, Gdańsk.
The word church simply means a gathering of people. People gather for all sorts of reasons, however, a Christian Church is a gathering of people whose chief aim is to live for Christ. That’s what we're aiming for and there are a number of things that help us to do this well.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is God’s revealed word to us. It is inerrant, it is true and it is the final authority in all matters pertaining to life. It is relevant to the everyday situations of all people on the face of the earth today and if understood, received and applied it has the power to transform lives.
God’s Word (the Bible) is for all people – rich or poor, young or old, educated and illiterate. God never intended that just a few, privileged people should hear and receive His words – that’s why Jesus could be found in the homes of the rich and the poor, with the wealthy and the marginalised, speaking personally to all that would listen.
The Holy Spirit
It is not possible to live out the Christian life apart from the help and presence of the Holy Spirit and it is not possible to build God’s church without God. There is much to be said here, but simply put...if Jesus is building His church, then He needs to be here with us...building His church and He says that He’s going to do this by pouring out the Holy Spirit!
Therefore, in our personal lives, our families and in our meetings together, we are continually looking for the presence of God’s Spirit. We fully encourage the use of His gifts and we long to experience more of His presence and power among us.
